02, 2007 Aaron's Catering,
a sponsor of the Cultural Trust of the Palm Beaches'
Palm Beach Jazz Festival donated food left over
from the event to local food banks. A storm that
blew through the area on the weekend of the event
resulted a shortfall in attendance and an abundance
of unconsumed, ready-to-eat food. Owner and executive
chef of Aaron's Catering,
Aaron Menitoff, donated the food to Palm Beach
Harvest and knew that together they could get
the food to people who need it the most. Deborah
Morgan, executive director of The Harvest, Jimmy
Felder from JAY's Ministries, and about eight
volunteers from Jesus And You loaded hundreds
of pounds of food from refrigerated trucks into
rental trucks. The food was immediately distributed
to local churches and food kitchens.“ |
